Messaging.ng handles personal data in support of onboarding, account administration, sender ID management, wallet funding, reporting, support and API access. This policy is written to align with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 and the supervisory role of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

1. Data we collect

We may collect identity, business, contact, technical, billing and compliance information including names, email addresses, phone numbers, business registration details, sender ID request documentation, wallet records, message metadata, login security data and support interactions.

2. Why we process personal data

Messaging.ng processes personal data to create and secure customer accounts, verify business identity, manage sender ID requests, support service delivery, generate reports, respond to support requests, enforce platform controls and meet legal, regulatory or audit obligations.

3. NDPA-aligned privacy commitments

Messaging.ng aims to process personal data lawfully, fairly, transparently and securely. We seek to limit processing to what is relevant for legitimate service operations, maintain appropriate safeguards, and provide channels through which customers can raise privacy requests or complaints.

4. Data retention and sharing

Data is retained for service continuity, reconciliation, compliance review, audit, fraud prevention and legal obligations. Access is limited to authorized personnel and approved service functions. We may disclose information where required by law, lawful regulatory request, fraud investigation, dispute handling or service protection.

5. Customer rights and requests

Where applicable, customers may request access, correction, restriction, deletion or clarification regarding personal data handled by Messaging.ng, subject to contractual, audit, security and regulatory obligations. Requests may be assessed in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023.

6. Security safeguards

Messaging.ng uses access controls, account roles, IP restrictions, credential management, audit visibility and other technical and organizational measures designed to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, loss or disclosure of personal data.
